The Omega Speedmaster '57 Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph 332.12.41.51.11.001 watch draws inspiration from the Speedmaster prototype watch launched in 1957, with a 40.5mm stainless steel case, compared to the Speedmaster Moonwatch, the new Speedmaster' The 57's case is thinner, less than 13 mm overall, and has a water resistance of 50 meters. The bezel is brushed and has a black tachymeter scale. The burgundy red dial is paired with the famous "broad arrow" hands, and the rhodium-plated hour markers and hands are all covered with luminous coating. There is a date window at 6 o’clock and a small seconds dial at 9 o’clock. Unlike traditional chronograph dials, the Speedmaster '57 combines the 12-hour and 60-minute chronograph subdials at 3 o'clock.
